After my last performance in June 2009, I made a conscious decision to stop performing.  I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. I felt that if i was ever to sing or perform again, I would need to completely relax internally, remove any ambition or strain to seek fame, fortune and admiration, and somehow navigate out of the restricted and arduous vocal training I had undergone since very young.  I created the intention to re-find and re-member the natural voice I had as a young woman, pre-training.

For the next three years, I learnt music technology, conceived my (then) to be album "ALAYA-NAM".  By the time my record label Heartspace Music and recording studio was set up, the voice was ready!! I began recording. And as the saying goes, the rest is history!

About 8 weeks after the launch of the album, I received an invitation from Jenni Roditi to join in her new venture Vocal Tai Chi. This takes place in the form of participatory workshops, coaching from Jenni and optional creative performance. This process has been one which confirms and affirms my already evolving and developing artisitic, composition and performance path.  It is a platform for me to witness myself in an vocally organic place, where vocal utterances are the fabric of the moment.  They emanate from the human heart.

They are emotional, at times cathartic, and all the while, bind us to ourselves and to others in a mutually inclusive and loving way.

I have experienced myself, and others, both in a therapeutic and creative performance way which not only enhances what is inherently present within each one of us, but also encourages the creative impulse to propel itself far beyond what may be imagined by the mind.  The result is often surprising, all encompassing, and always satisfactory.
